Twice  In A Blue Moon

I Wrapped Your Heart

Late last night we spread our quilt

And lay out on the lawn

We watched the lanterns of the sky

Reveal themselves ‘till dawn

I saw beauty and I saw light

Pass before my eyes

I’m not worried what may or what might

because you wrapped your heart in mine

You lay you head in the curve of my arm

And rested for a time

Our hearts beat there in perfect rhythm

All the troubles seemed to unwind

We saw beauty and we saw light

Pass before our eyes

We’re not worried what may or what might

Since I wrapped your heart in mine

The pace of life can sweep you away sometimes

It’s hard to get the grinding wheel to cease

We know ourselves enough by now

Where to go to get our relief

And darling I love you

And I’m doing fine

We’ve come her to gather

This healing time

Late last night we spread out quilt

And lay out on the lawn

We watched the lanterns of the sky

Reveal themselves till down

I saw beauty and I saw light

Pass before my eyes

I’m not worried what may or what might

Since I wrapped your heart in mine
