Twice  In A Blue Moon

These Old Friends

These old friends of mine

Have always been by my side

And I by theirs in kind

That’s how we want it to be

These old friends of mine

Form a constant line

That binds our hearts in minds

In harmony

When I fall there’s a hand

to pick me up and dust me off

When they show their pain

I’ll be the love they need

When they get lost

These old friends of mine

Make the world a softer place

And if I’m so inclined

I take my solace in their space

These old friends of mine

Make a blanket of memories

And when the world turns cold

And I’m feeling old

They come and comfort me

Chorus:

Dance to the joys in life

Let the sorrow meet your heart

Surrender to the kindness that you find

If there’s a chance you can light the way

For a soul in the dark

Someday they’ll be your eyes

When you’ve gone blind

These old friends of mine

Well they accept me as I am

They fill my weakness up

And have my strengths at their command

These old friends of mine

Make my darkest day seem light

And in their confidence

I am prepared for any fight.

Chorus
